How Do I Audition for Miami City Ballet School?

Throughout the year, Miami City Ballet School offers audition opportunities to students interested in being considered for our School Year and Summer Programs in the following ways:

1. School Year Program (Sept 2024 – June 2025)
Option 1 – Submit a Video Audition
Option 2 – Audition at Miami City Ballet School (visit Auditions at MCBS below for more information)

2. Summer Programs (June 2025– August 2025):
2025 National Audition Tour or Video Submission (Details Coming Soon)

We are currently accepting Video Auditions for the following:

24/25 School Year. Auditions close February 1, 2025

VIDEO AUDITION SUBMISSION

Video Audition Details:

Please complete only ONE registration form per applicant.

If you have registered for a past program, please enter the previously used email address to submit your video audition.

Accepted students are invited for the appropriate program(s) based on artistic evaluation.

Video audition registration is available online through the Video Audition portal.
$40.00 Audition fees* are only accepted via credit card through the online audition registration.
Students will receive email notification of the results within 5 – 7 business days after video submission is received.
The video must be filmed within three months of the submission date.
Admitted students will be provided detailed instructions for registration - including parent/student handbook, pricing, dress code and performance information.
Results will not be given over the phone. No exceptions.

$40 Audition Fee – all audition fees are final, non-refundable, and non-transferable regardless of circumstance.

Audition Details

Please contact school@miamicityballet.org to set up your audition class.
Create an account and complete the registration form in the audition online portal.
If you have registered for a past program, please enter the previously used email address to register.
Please complete only ONE registration form per applicant.
During the audition class, students will be carefully evaluated for all appropriate programs.
Girls 8-18 are expected to have previous ballet training and should wear a leotard (any style and color), tights and ballet shoes. Hair must be pulled off the face, in a bun. Girls 11 – 18 should bring pointe shoes, if en pointe.
Boys 8-18 are expected to have previous ballet training and should wear a white shirt, black tights, and ballet shoes. *Boys age 8 may have little or no training.
A COVID-19 vaccination will not be required for auditions.
Parents will not be permitted to enter the building. No exceptions.
Students can expect to take a 1 hour to 1 hour 30-minute ballet class with a 30-minute check in process.
All students will receive email notification of the results within 5 - 7 business days after their audition.

Students interested in attending our 2025 Summer Programs may audition at a city near you. If you are unable to audition during the 2025 National Audition Tour, video submissions are also accepted.
