|Miami City Ballet and Your Privacy|
To provide information about other matters that involve information you may provide to us
This policy covers how Miami City Ballet treats the personal information that it collects through www.miamicityballet.org, or offline via phone, by mail, or at locations such as the theaters where we perform. Personal information is information about you that is personally identifiable, such as your name, address, e-mail address, or phone number, or other information that is not otherwise publicly available.
1. Information Collection and Use
You can purchase tickets and remain anonymous if you pay by cash in person at any Ticketmaster outlet.
You may visit our website as often as you like without logging in and no personal information about your visit will be collected. If you visit our website simply to browse, we may collect general information about your visit, including, but not limited to, the time and duration of visit, type of web browser used, the operating system/platform you are using, your Internet Provider, the website(s) from which you linked to us, and your CPU speed. We also may note how you use our website by recording site traffic patterns and click streams. We do not associate this general information with any personal information. Instead, we aggregate this information and use it only to identify the levels and areas of interest in Miami City Ballet and to improve and refine our website and services. We may perform (or have third parties perform) analyses of visitors' behavior, and may share aggregated, anonymous data with entities such as current or potential sponsors.
Miami City Ballet collects personal information when you make a purchase or a contribution, register on Insider E-mail, request information on our products and services, participate in a promotion or an online survey, contact Miami City Ballet with a question or suggestion, and apply for employment at Miami City Ballet. Depending on the nature of your interaction with Miami City Ballet, we may ask you for information such as your name, phone number, physical address, company related information, e-mail address, credit card information, and product preferences. Once you provide this information you are no longer anonymous to us.
Your personal information may be used by us (or third parties engaged by us) for things such as: fulfilling your requests for products and services, contacting you, conducting research, or for legal process such as establishing or exercising our legal rights or defending against legal claims.
Miami City Ballet may provide your name and address or phone number (but not your e-mail address) to third parties whose products we believe may be of interest to you. While we do not share any other information about you, the selection criteria may result in the third party being able to identify your relationship with Miami City Ballet in a broad manner, i.e., that you are a subscriber or donor, or may have attended a particular production. You can request that we do not share your name and address or phone numbers with such third parties. Miami City Ballet does not monitor or control the privacy policies of third parties.
Any e-mails sent to you via our Insider E-Mail program offer you the instant electronic option of being removed from the e-mail list. You may also request not to receive any other e-mails from us, or to be removed from our mailing or phone list for matters beyond simply renewing your relationship with us (renewing your subscription, etc.). Also, you can update personal information in your account with us, specifically your name, address, phone number, interest preferences by contacting us at the phone number or mailing address listed below.
2. Personal Information of Children
We do not solicit personal information from children. While there is no age restriction for registering for Insider E-Mail (because we have no precise means of verifying the age of registrants, and because information provided about our performances, our dancers and our Ballet School can be valuable for people of all ages), we do not release any e-mail addresses.
We do not use “cookie” technology. A cookie is a small amount of data sent by our website and stored on your computer's hard drive that our site can read and which helps us keep track of how you use our website. Miami City Ballet also does not use electronic images known as Web beacons to monitor the activity of our Web site or e-mail messages.
5. Security and Disclaimer
Although we use security that we believe to be appropriate to protect your personal information, we do not guarantee that our security precautions will protect against, and we expressly disclaim any liability for, any loss, misuse, or alteration of your personal information.
Miami City Ballet may update this policy at any time. We will notify you about significant changes in the way we treat personal information by sending a notice to the e-mail address that you have provided us or by placing a prominent notice on our website.
