March 01, 2012
Three of the world’s most influential artistic sensations: Miami City Ballet, under the direction of Founding Artistic Director Edward Villella; in collaboration with the highly esteemed The Cleveland Orchestra, under the direction of Franz Welser-Möst and Tito Munoz, join forces with renowned choreographer Alexei Ratmansky for one spectacular evening to present the World Premiere of SYMPHONIC DANCES, with music by Sergei Rachmaninoff.

Miami City Ballet gratefully acknowledges and thanks long-time Broward County residents Harriet and Henry Pownall, for their support as lead underwriters of SYMPHONIC DANCES, with additional thanks for a grant from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, as part of its Knight Arts Challenge.

Henry Pownall was the owner and CEO of Imagination Farms, a large dairy farm (formerly Velda Farms). He and Harriet pride themselves on giving to the artist community throughout South Florida, with Miami City Ballet being one of their top priorities.
