Graphic Designer
Department: Marketing
Reports to: Director of Marketing & Communications

Position Overview: Miami City Ballet seeks a creative and enthusiastic designer to join our team. The Graphic Designer will implement the branding guidelines and creative vision of the company, producing powerful advertising and communications collateral across multiple platforms including mobile, web and online, print and publications, video, outdoor display, direct mail, and more.

The ideal candidate has passion for the visual and performing arts, mastery of all aspects of industry-standard tools and processes, and an excellent grasp of contemporary advertising and communications practices. He or she is a natural communicator and collaborator, able to work with outside agencies and internal teams to produce consistent, high-quality results under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities:
• Works with lead creative agency to ensure company-wide implementation of Branding Guidelines.
• Conceptualizes and produces marketing and communications collateral across multiple media.
• Collaborates with internal teams to develop and produce designs for event-based and institutional campaigns.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in graphic arts, design or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years experience in graphic arts and/or production, print media and publications, digital design and branding.
• Experience designing for responsive web layouts, video, mobile/tablet, apps and social media platforms a plus.
• Advertising, direct-mail, packaging, event and retail design experience a plus.
• Non-profit or fine/performing arts experience a plus.
• Strong creative design skills and an outstanding portfolio of work across a variety of media.
• Strong skills in illustration, photography and iconography a plus.
• Expert knowledge and experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop) and standard office packages with proficiency in both OS X and Windows environments.
• Working knowledge of Final Cut Pro, HTML5, CSS, Javascript, web development frameworks a plus.
• Strong conceptual and analytical skills; highly-organized problem-solver.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; works well independently and collaboratively.
• Must be local/commutable to Miami Beach, FL for on-site work during normal business hours.

Development Manager
Department: Development
Reports to: Director of Development

Position Overview: Miami City Ballet’s Development Manager works to advance the Department’s goals and supports fundraising efforts from individual, corporate, foundation and government sources.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
• Manage and maintain the Tessitura database
• Handle donor ticket requests for Artist’s Circle Members, Trustees and Major Donors
• Provides onsite ticket support for donors at all performances in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach
• Process contributions
• Manage gift acknowledgement process
• Process Artist’s Circle and Friends memberships
• Manage Friends Membership
• Generate renewal letters and manage renewal process
• Generate reports and provide data analysis
• Oversee benefit fulfillment for individual donors and institutional funders
• Manage subscription renewal process for Artist’s Circle Members, Trustees and Major Donors
• Oversee mailings
• Manage special projects
• Assists with special events

Special Events Manager

Department: Development
Reports to: Director of Development

Position Overview: Lead the planning, logistics management and implementation of fundraising events and other special events/projects in support of the mission and goals of Miami City Ballet.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
• Manage all special events including four opening night receptions in each county, annual galas, meetings, etc.
• Responsible for event set up and break down including site selection, contract negotiation, catering, vendor,
volunteer management, event staffing, décor, invitations, prize acquisition, etc.
• Manage relationships with outside vendors to ensure efficient and cost-effective events
• Develop, maintain, and update the event invitation, registration, and attendance lists.
• Work with appropriate development team members to procure sponsors.
• Develop and monitor budget for special events including expenses and contributed income.
• Participate in donor prospect discussions to provide insight, as appropriate, on key leadership volunteers as it
relates to their financial inclination to support the organization.
• Maintains annual calendar of events, ensuring accuracy and currency. Responsible for distributing event
calendar information to MCB staff on a regular basis.
• Travel to support regional events and activities as required
• Coordinate special donor recognition items such as awards, plaques, flower presentations, etc.
• Serve as a liaison to event chairs and MCB board members and involved in special events and projects.
• Provide regular updates to Director of Development, Executive Director, and Artistic Director as needed.
• Create effective written materials to support special events and development activities including, but not
limited to: solicitation appeals, event programs and scripts, and website content.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with board, donors, prospects, and constituents.
• Work with Marketing and Press Department to coordinate event-related marketing and public relations.

Summer Intensive Chaperones

Department: Miami City Ballet School
Reports to: MCBS Housing Administrator

Position Overview: We are looking for mature individuals, age 20 or older, to work as chaperones at the Miami City Ballet School Summer Intensive. A background in dance is desirable but not required. Previous experience as a chaperone with students ages 12- 19 is preferable. 

Work Dates: Saturday, June 22 through Saturday, July 27

Responsibilities:
• Care and well-being of students assigned to chaperone
• Two chaperones each day, Monday through Saturday, will accompany students to the Miami City Ballet Studios by bus.
• Assist with lunch distribution and lunch room monitoring
• Responsible for check in and out procedure
• Responsible for reporting lost keys/cards to Housing Administrator and University of Miami
• Responsible for reporting misbehavior to Housing Administrator
• Chaperones will accompany students on Sunday excursions as need it.
• Accompany an ill or injured student to University Emergency Care Center.
• Maintains contact and medical information for each student.
• Ensures all policies and procedures are followed.

Teaching Fellows
Department:  Miami City Ballet School
Reports to:  School Director

Miami City Ballet School is launching a Fellowship Program that offers teachers in the community the opportunity to learn our new ballet syllabus, train in the classroom, receive a certificate upon completion of the course, and receive a weekly stipend. Teachers will review Miami City Ballet School's Syllabus with the School Director and faculty, then join them in the classroom for hands-on work with the students.

Our new syllabus has been finely-tuned to train young dancers ages 7-12 to the best of their ability. Miami City Ballet School’s faculty has found it to be incredibly thorough, challenging and productive in its results. The School would like to provide other teachers with the opportunity to learn new insights, glean innovative approaches, and renew their love of teaching.

Those who complete the Fellowship Program will be considered for future employment at Miami City Ballet School. Applicants will be selected at the discretion of the School Director and Chairman of Faculty, Artistic Director Lourdes Lopez.

 
Applicants from a range of dance backgrounds -- from college dance majors to seasoned ballet teachers -- are encouraged to apply . The program runs from September 3, 2013 through May 30, 2014, with holiday breaks in conjunction with the school calendar. Each Fellowship Teacher will be assigned to one level of ballet classes a month. After completing a month at one level, the Fellowship Teachers will rotate levels so that each teacher will have the opportunity to work with students at every level in the program. Weekly attendance will be based on the number of required ballet classes for that level. Attendance days are negotiable.

Customer Service Representatives
Department: Box Office
Reports to: Box Office Manager 

Miami City Ballet is seeking customer-service oriented highly motivated individuals to fill several part-time in season positions in its Box Office.

The successful candidate will represent Miami City Ballet in a professional manner by providing excellent internal and external customer service. Must be computer literate, possess excellent customer service/interpersonal skills, detail oriented and organized. Customer service experience is required.

Position duties included answer incoming telephone calls and greet visitors. Process in-bound (phone, mail, fax, e-mail and walk-up) subscription and single ticket orders. Provide daily payment settlements to immediate supervisors. Provide ticket holder services to existing ticket holders (subscribers, group members, and single ticket purchasers) such as ticket exchanges and duplication of lost/stolen tickets. Maintain customer records both computerized and hard copy. Act as sales clerk in in-house or traveling merchandise boutique. Provide support assistance to receptionist.

This is an in season position with hours offered on an as needed basis for the months of October through May only. Nights/Weekends possible with limited travel in South Florida to provide customer service at performance venues. Compensation is an hourly rate of $10.
